WHY DESIGN / BUILD?

Because we know construction cost, we can apply that information during design to target predetermined budget parameters. We provide cost updates regularly during design so you are thoroughly informed and construction gets underway without delays due to budget overruns. This means efficiencies in time and money to you. During construction, the architect (Jauregui) continues to oversee the project and is readily available for consultation. There is never any finger pointing. We manage everything required of the project with the highest integrity and your best interest in mind.

Our team strives for excellence at every step, from breathtaking design; to exceptionally well-documented construction drawings, specifications and finishes; to expert craftsmanship and personal project management. During design our interior’s team works with you to select all materials and finishes for your home, and during construction provides whole-house furnishing selections, procurement and installation, inclusive of draperies, rugs and accessories. Nobody matches our level of quality and all-inclusive service.

HOW DO YOU CHARGE AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

We base our fees on project scope rather than square footage and typically fall in the median range compared to quality residential architects and luxury builders. From initial design to detailed drawings usually requires anywhere from 6-10 months depending on level of complexity and your timely feedback. Construction on average requires 18-20 months but we can fast-track the project depending on your timetable. Jauregui is singular when it comes to the exceptional level of design, expertise and service we bring to the table.

HOW DO WE GET STARTED?

We start with a thorough conversation about your needs and wants for your new home, and also discuss approximate square footage and projected range of cost to make sure we’re all on the same page. We follow up with a simple pre-construction contract, written in plain language, to provide professional services consisting of architecture, engineering, interior design including selections, landscaping design, complete drawings and comprehensive specifications. Furnishings procurement and installation is also detailed in the agreement. We understand this is a big commitment and we want you to have all the information at hand to make an informed decision and be excited moving forward with us.

ANYTHING ELSE TO KNOW?

We build only what we design and design only for our build clients. This way you’re assured of a highly personalized experience from an extensive team of professionals. Payments are commensurate with services. Architectural fees are typically payable in 3 installments. Construction requires a 5% deposit and on average approximately 10 -12 draws over the build period. Most of our construction contracts are fixed fee. We may consider a cost-plus agreement when the scope of the project is more extensive.
